The Sigma Ultralign Instrument , the newest in the Robichaud-Lévesque Clinic’s arsenal of treatment tools. This system is an FDA approved percussive device. This instrument has both an analytical and a therapeutic application which allows practitioners to diagnose and treat joint dysfunctions of the spine in a precise, effective and gentle manner. This device can also be used to treat and manage various others neuromusculoskeletal conditions.
Who is this for?
The Ultralign instrument offers an alternative to conventional chiropractic manipulations for patients of all ages who might either be apprehensive of chiropractic manipulations, individuals that present with acute injuries, or those suffering from conditions with contra-indications to spinal manipulations (e.g. decreased bone density).
How does the Sigma Ultralign instrument work?
This system utilises a precise percussive oscillating force to evaluate the function of individual joints/ tissues in relation to one another. Once the problem areas (e.g joints/tissue) have been identified the instrument is then used to normalize joint mobility/ tissue hypertonicity using a low force, high frequency percussive action. Once the treatment has been administered joints/ tissues are re-assessed to determine if the desired response has been achieved.
Benefits of Sigma Ultralign Instrument
- Facilitates the management of musculoskeletal conditions by increasing range of motion, reducing joint fixations/dysfunctions and improving functional capacity
- Soft Tissue conditions such as trigger points also respond well to the percussion forces of the Ultralign System, which has a specific soft tissue function that measures the degree of muscular resistance
- Provides a controlled, specific, precise and quantifiable force applied to the treatment areas
- Comprises of 3 steps: analysis, treatment and post treatment analysis,
- Real-time feedback
The bottom line
The Sigma Ultralign Instrument provides gentle, effective treatments to injured or dysfunctional areas for individuals of all ages. This technology provides the means to increase the objectivity of physical evaluations. In additions, this allows the opportunity to treat a wider variety of patients who otherwise would not have considered chiropractic care as a therapeutic option due to fear/anxiety caused by conventional chiropractic manipulations or that suffer from contra-indication to manual manipulation.
