The Sigma ProAdjuster is the newest addition to the Robichaud-Lévesque Clinic’s arsenal of treatment tools. This system is an FDA-approved percussive device. It has both an analytical and a therapeutic application which allows practitioners to diagnose and treat joint dysfunctions of the spine in a precise, effective, and gentle manner. It can also be used to treat and manage other neuromusculoskeletal conditions.
WHO IS THIS FOR?
The Sigma ProAdjuster offers an alternative to conventional chiropractic manipulations for patients of all ages who might be apprehensive of chiropractic manipulations, who present with acute injuries, or who suffer from conditions with contra-indications to spinal manipulations (e.g. patients with decreased bone density).
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The Sigma ProAdjuster uses a precise percussive oscillating force to evaluate the function of individual joints and tissues in relation to one another. Once the problem areas have been identified, the instrument is used to normalize joint mobility and tissue hypertonicity using a low- force, high-frequency percussive action. Once treatment has been administered, joints and tissues are reassessed to determine if the desired response has been achieved.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
- The Sigma ProAdjuster facilitates the management of musculoskeletal conditions by increasing range of motion, reducing joint fixations and dysfunctions, and improving functional capacity.
- Soft-tissue conditions such as trigger points also respond well to the percussion forces of the ProAdjuster, which has a specific soft-tissue function that measures the degree of muscular resistance.
- It applies a controlled, specific, precise, and quantifiable force to the treatment area.
- It is comprised of three steps: analysis, treatment, and post-treatment analysis.
- Real-time feedback
THE BOTTOM LINE
The Sigma ProAdjuster provides patients of all ages with gentle, effective treatment to injured or dysfunctional areas. It provides the means to increase the objectivity of physical evaluations and allows for the treatment of a wider variety of patients who otherwise would not have considered chiropractic care as a therapeutic option due to fear of, or anxiety about, conventional chiropractic manipulations. It also benefits patients who have contra-indications to manual manipulation.
